I began my journey in 2018 as Jackie Patterson Photography, capturing love-filled moments for couples and families. Over the years, my passion for creativity only grew, leading me to explore new ways to serve fellow photographers and creative entrepreneurs. As my skills expanded, I realized I needed a space where all of my creative pursuits could come together under one vision. That’s when La Luz Studios was born.
Today, I have the joy of blending photography, editing, and web design, helping creatives bring their vision to life in a way that is thoughtful, timeless, and full of meaning. Whether I’m capturing fleeting moments, perfecting images, or crafting a brand’s online presence, my goal is the same - to create something that feels warm, authentic, and uniquely you.
I feel incredibly blessed to do what I love and grateful for every client who trusts me with their story. I can't wait to create something beautiful together!
WHY "LA LUZ?"
The name La Luz is deeply personal to me.
La Luz means “the light” in Spanish, and that’s exactly what I want to bring to my work—
light, warmth, and meaning. It connects to my roots (my family immigrated from Argentina before I was born) and also reflects my faith. Light is at the heart of both photography and design, shaping the way we see and feel things. More than that, light represents God’s presence in the Bible, bringing hope, beauty, and transformation. That’s what I hope to reflect in everything I create.
OVER THE YEARS
2018
launching the dream
This is where it all began. I started shooting professionally in 2018 and instantly fell in love with capturing memories that matter. Turning moments into timeless images quickly became more than just a job-
it became a calling.
2021
becoming a mom
In early 2021, I became a mom to our daughter Savannah, right in the heart of a global pandemic. During that season, I stepped into full-time editing for wedding photographers across the globe- from Hawaii to Australia and so many places in between. It was the beginning of blending motherhood with my creative passions.
2023
a new dream
In late 2023, we welcomed our son Asher. With two little ones and years of creative work behind me, I knew it was time to bring all my talents under one name. The idea for La Luz Studios started forming- something that could hold all the beauty of photography, design, and purpose in one place.
2025
LA luz studios launched!
After years of dreaming, refining, and growing as both a creative and a mother, La Luz Studios officially launched in May 2025. Built on a foundation of faith, storytelling, and strategy, this studio brings together everything I love-photography and web design-under one roof. From Peterborough to clients around the world, we exist to create with purpose and reflect light in every project we take on.
I couldn't ask for a better experience. She aims to capture personality and special moments as opposed to a rigid set of poses. I would definitely recommend her if you're looking for professional photography.
